History[]
Season 1[]
Perrin Aybara encounters a pack of wolves after leaving the Two Rivers, and one approaches him, licking his wounded leg.[1] After leaving Shadar Logoth, Perrin and Egwene are forced north by a pack of wolves, being chased by them for several days. However, after reaching the Tuatha'an, they begin to wonder if the wolves in fact led them to a place of safety.[2]
When Perrin and Egwene are captured and tortured by the Children of the Light, Perrin's eyes begin to glow gold when Eamon Valda begins to cut at his back. After the duo manages to break free when Egwene burns the rope holding Perrin with channeling, and Perrin unleashes his raw strength, a pack of wolves attacks the Whitecloak camp, mauling many Children, but letting Perrin and Egwene go unscathed.[3]
Season 2[]
Perrin is taken captive by the Seanchan and is being taken to Falme when Elyas Machera and wolves help rescue him.[4] Perrin travels with Elyas and the wolves and learns that he and Elyas are wolfbrothers. He also learns about the wolf language -- that wolves communicate by sharing visions with each other -- when a wolf projects the image of a buck to him and Elyas. The wolf Hopper also communicates his name with Perrin.[5] Perrin continues with Elyas and the wolves until he realizes that Elyas has led him back to Atuan's Mill, where the Seanchan originally captured him and his friends. Angered, Perrin leaves Elyas and the wolves to head after the Seanchan to help his friends. The wolf Hopper accompanies Perrin.[6]
