The War of Power is the name given to the great war between Light and Shadow that took place at the end of the Age of Legends.
History[]
Very little can be known for certain about the War of Power by the Third Age. However, it is remembered as the name between the Light and Shadow at the end of the previous Age.
The Forsaken served as human commanders of the Shadow during the war, with several extremely powerful former Aes Sedai having been given immortality by the Dark One.
Lews Therin Telamon was able to defeat the Forsaken, and kept them alive behind cuendillar seals that were thought to be impossible to break.[1] The threat of the Shadow also led to a mission that sought to cage the Dark One forever. However, Latra Posae Decume, the Tamyrlin Seat, refused to aid him. Because of this, saidin, the male half of the One Power, was corrupted by the Dark One. The ensuing insanity in all male channelers led to the devastating Breaking of the World and the end of the Age of Legends.[2][3]
Changes from the book series[]
The War of Power is adapted from the historical event of the same name (book spoilers!) from the book series.
