Verin Mathwin is a character in The Wheel of Time television series, first appearing in season 2. She is potrayed by Meera Syal.[1]
Verin Mathwin is an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah.[2][1]
History[]
Early life[]
Verin was born somewhere in the Westlands. She studied at the White Tower in Tar Valon, and was eventually raised to Aes Sedai, choosing the Brown Ajah.[2] Her sister, Adeleas, also became an Aes Sedai.[3] After becoming an Aes Sedai, Verin bonded with a Warder named Tomas.[4]
In the late 960s NE, Verin became the owner of a house in Tifan's Well. She intended to spend years away from the White Tower so that she could write a History of the World Since the Breaking with Adeleas.[5]

Verin is an adult woman with light-brown skin. She has short hair that is silver-gray streaked with black. She wears brown clothes, such as a brown hooded cloak. She wears her Aes Sedai Great Serpent ring on her left hand.

- In a Q&A on November 24, 2021, a fan asked showrunner Rafe Judkins if they would get to see Verin in the show, and Judkins responded, "You will. I swear it until the last hour of my life."[6]

- Verin and Adeleas are not related in the book series. Adeleas's sister in the books is Vandene Namelle
(book spoilers!), an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. - In the book series, Verin has regularly been living at the White Tower for the past few decades. In the show, she is living in Tifan's Well with Adeleas, like Vandene in the books.
