Turak's Voice is a character introduced in season 2 of The Wheel of Time television series portrayed by Akie Kotabe.

Turak's Voice assists High Lord Turak and formally speaks on his behalf at court.

History[]

Early life[]

Turak's Voice was presumably born and raised in the Seanchan nation across the Aryth Ocean.

Turak's Voice accompanies High Lord Turak and the Seanchan for the return to the Westlands. Turak's Voice serves at Turak's side in Falme.

Season 2[]

When High Lady Suroth is called before Turak to answer for her decision to invade Atuan's Mill, Suroth's voice Alwhin begins speaking for her, but Turak's Voice gives the command that Suroth speak for herself. Once questioned, Turak's Voice gives the order that Suroth is barred from Turak's council until she is "once again presentable" and has her kneel. A guard cuts Suroth's nails, the sign of her status, and Turak's Voice gives the command that she is to be taken to her chambers.[1]

During the Battle of Falme, Turak's Voice reports to Turak that the sul'dam are station on the Tower and that their soldiers are searching for the stolen Horn of Valere. As he reports, Rand al'Thor approaches, and Turak's Voice orders him to stand aside. The guards and Turak raise weapons to confront Rand, and Rand, angered at seeing Egwene enslaved as a damane, kills Turak and the guards. Rand leaves Turak's Voice alive, presumably because he was unarmed. But at Turak's death, Turak's Voice pulls out a dagger and stabs himself in the chest, killing himself.[2]

Physical appearance[]

Turak's Voice is an adult man with light skin. He has black hair that is shaved on the left side. As Turak's Voice, he wears a golden headpiece that wraps over his face.

Changes from the book series[]

Turak's Voice is an adaptation of the High Lord Turak's unspecified servants from the book series.

  • Expanded role - In the books, Turak's servants do not have a prominent role; while in the television series, Turak's Voice has a notable place at Turak's side, both at court and in reporting to Turak during the Battle of Falme.
  • Death - At Turak's death in the books, his servants kill themselves, as Turak's Voice does in the television series. Their last words are the same: "From birth to death, I serve the blood." In the books, they stab themselves in the heart, while in the television series, Turak's Voice stabs himself lower in the chest.
