The Trolloc Wars were a series of large-scale conflicts fought between Shadowspawn forces (Trollocs in particular) and the armies of the Westlands. It ended the era immediately after the Breaking.[1]
History[]
Although the world had been devastated by the Breaking, the Westlands had been able to reach a new era of prosperity before the Trolloc Wars took place, leading to the rise of great nations such as Manetheren and Aridhol.
One of the most well-known advances of the war was the Fall of Manetheren. The Shadowspawn armies were sent against the small yet mighty forces of the mountainous nation. The nation held back the Trollocs for three days, which is when they were promised aid. After they ended up holding the nation for thirteen days, they realized no aid was coming. King Aemon was slain in battle in a last stand against the Shadowspawn, and his wife, Queen Eldrene, sacrificed her life to defeat the Shadowspawn armies after she drew in far too much of the One Power than any one woman could possibly hold, destroying the great City of Manetheren in the process. The nation thus was completely obliterated, though the people who had hidden in the mountains survived to rebuild as the humble community of the Two Rivers.[1]
Changes from the book series[]
The Trolloc Wars are adapted from the historical event of the same name (book spoilers!) from the book series.
