Toman Head is a peninsula situated on the western coast of the Westlands. It lies along the northern, eastern, and southern boundary of the Aryth Ocean.[1]
Overview[]
Toman Head juts out between the large nations of Arad Doman and Tarabon. Because of its location and topography, the land is vulnerable to maritime attack. This means that it is only temporarily claimed by either nation in moments of political benefit.[2] The peninsula thus is prone to suffering political power vacuums.[3] Larger towns on Toman Head like Falme have essentially established a system of self-government, though Falme is not large enough to be considered a true city-state.[4]

History[]
Season 1[]
The Seanchan begin their invasion of Toman Head.[5]
Season 2[]
Lord Ingtar Shinowa's company, including Perrin Aybara, Loial, Masema Dagar and Uno Nomesta, crosses the border of Arad Doman proper into Toman Head. They witness the Seanchan attack at Atuan's Mill, where High Lady Suroth's army forces all those present to swear oaths of allegiance. Uno is killed after he refuses to swear the oaths, and his violent manner of death intimidates all others present to swear their loyalty. Perrin is later escorted away from the town, but escapes a Seanchan coach with the aid of Elyas Machera, and passes back into the borders of Arad Doman.[6][7]
At Falme, it is revealed that High Lord Turak is the official royal commander of the Seanchan preliminary invasion, the Hailene. Suroth was, in fact, leading a mission independent of official Seanchan orders, as she is in fact a Darkfriend being influenced by Ishamael. The Children of the Light make use of this power vacuum, and have seized Atuan's Mill by the time Perrin returns. Perrin escapes the village after freeing Aviendha from the cage where she is being held.[3]
Liandrin Guirale also makes her way to Toman Head from Tar Valon via the Ways. She has come to leave Nynaeve al'Meara, Egwene al'Vere and Elayne Trakand with Suroth on the orders of the Shadow. However, the White Tower initiates are able to briefly resist the Seanchan. Nynaeve and Elayne escape the encounter, and make their way to the town of Falme, where they encounter Ryma Sedai and her Warder, Basan. Meanwhile, Egwene is captured and enslaved, being made damane.[3]
