Tifan's Well is a small, out-of-the-way town in Arafel.

History

Pre-series

Around the late 960s to early 970s NE, Verin Mathwin and Adeleas, two Aes Sedai sisters of the Brown Ajah, retreated to Tifan's Well so they could work on a History of the World Since the Breaking in solitude. They were joined by Verin's Warder, Tomas.

Season 2

Moiraine Damodred and Lan Mandragoran are staying with Verin, Adeleas and Tomas in Tifan's Well since leaving Fal Dara. Although Moiraine has lost access to the One Power, she keeps herself going mentally by fetching water for herself from a well every day. She also receives many visitors, the twentieth of whom is Bayle Domon. She buys a poem from him that was found in Cairhien. Meanwhile, Moiraine and Lan's relationship has grown considerably strained over the past few months.

Moiraine eventually tries to leave the town on her own, but she realizes that a Fade is ready to attack her. She kills one of the dangerous Shadowspawn, and Lan arrives and kills two more, but they are grievously wounded before they are saved by Verin, Adeleas, and Tomas. Verin, Adeleas, and Tomas choose to leave town with Moiraine and Lan after they are Healed, as Verin considers events surrounding the Dragon Reborn to be far more important than histories of the world.
