Thomas Chaanhing is a Danish-Chinese actor who portrays Lord Agelmar Jagad on Prime Video's The Wheel of Time.
General overview[]
Prior to The Wheel of Time, Thomas Chaanhing was best known for portraying Gerel in the TV series Marco Polo (2016) and Jiang Liei in the TV series Around the World in 80 Days (2021).
Thomas Chaanhing and co-star Sandra Yi Sencindiver have been friends since 2001 when they debuted on stage together.[1] Chaanhing later suggested to Sencindiver that she get an international agent. Sencindiver did so, and her new agent helped her get cast as Lady Amalisa Jagad in The Wheel of Time. Sencindiver then talked to casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry and recommended Thomas Chaanhing for the role of her character's brother Lord Agelmar. The casting team reached out to Chaanhing's agent for an audition tape and he got the part.[2][3]
