The Seven Towers is the name referring to the capital city of Malkier, as well as the distinct towers which surround the city. The city is now abandoned and in an extreme state of decay, as it has been lost to the Blight.
History[]
The Seven Towers of Malkier were lost to the Blight when the nation was lost in the mid-10th century NE. Many of its citizens became refugees in the neighboring borderlands, while the son of the royal family, Lan Mandragoran, was taken to the nearby city of Fal Dara in Shienar.[1]
The state of decay of the city was accelerated, while the Blight has now completely surrounded the Seven Towers. This has been put down to the increasing touch of the Dark One as He begins to stir in His prison.[2]
Season 1[]
Moiraine Damodred and Rand al'Thor view the Seven Towers from afar on their way to the Blight. Rand observes the extreme decay of the city, and Moiraine explains this and the city being surrounded by the Blight as a result of the Dark One's touch. Lan also observes the Seven Towers from afar when he goes to the Eye of the World to find Moiraine and Rand.[2]
