A ruby-hilted dagger, alternatively a ruby-encrusted dagger,[1] is a weapon in the Prime Video series The Wheel of Time. It is a dagger found in Shadar Logoth.
Overview[]
The dagger has a large ruby on a golden hilt. It is initially kept in a golden box.
The dagger is corrupted by the same evil that destroyed Shadar Logoth and its people. It has an infectious nature and if allowed to exist outside the city could destroy the goodness in humanity. Mat's ta'veren nature kept him protected from the evil fully taking hold.[2]

Liandrin Guirale has Mat imprisoned in her personal captivity in Tar Valon, allegedly to monitor that he has completely recovered from the effects of the dagger.[3]
Min Farshaw has a Viewing of Mat stabbing Rand with the dagger when she first sees him.[4]

On February 17, 2021, the official social media accounts for the series released a first look video of the dagger.[5] It is the second weapon given a first look video, after Tam's heron-mark sword. It's also the first time an actual video clip from the show is revealed.
