The Old Tongue is a dead language, which was the common language of the Age of Legends.
Overview[]
Once the common tongue during the Age of Legends, during the late Third Age, it is nearly extinct. It is studied by scholars, nobles, and the Aes Sedai, and is remembered more in ancient places such as Malkier and Seanchan. It may also come naturally to those who have Old Blood running through their veins.[1]
