The Light's Blessing Inn is an inn in The Wheel of Time. Rand al'Thor and Mat Cauthon stay there when they arrive in Tar Valon.
Overview[]
The Light's Blessing is located in Tar Valon and is run by Basel Gill. The inn has a library with many books, including a book on the Karaethon Cycle as well as The Travels of Jain Farstrider.[1]
History[]
Season 1[]
Thom Merrilin told Rand al'Thor about the inn and that he knew the owner Basel Gill. When Rand and Mat get to the city, Rand takes Mat there, and they get a room. At the inn's library, Rand studies The Travels of Jain Farstrider when he meets Loial, and talks about his journeys. After his conversation with Rand, Loial goes to the White Tower and returns with Rand and Mat's friend, Nynaeve al'Meara, who was believed dead after a Trolloc attack on the Two Rivers. Nynaeve studies Mat as his strange sickness worsens, and tells him to rest.[1]
Moiraine Damodred finds out that Rand and Mat are staying at the inn and that Loial and Nynaeve are frequently visiting them, and enters their room with her Warder, Lan Mandragoran. Rand attempts to hold Lan off, as he is worried that Mat is a male channeler and that Moiraine will gentle him, but she finds that Mat's affliction is a result of his link to the ruby-hilted dagger from Shadar Logoth. She channels in order to sever Mat from the dagger and Heal the damage done to him, and chastises Nynaeve for not informing her of his condition.[2]

Changes from the book series[]
The Light's Blessing is an adaptation of the Queen's Blessing (book spoilers!) from book series. Both inns are run by Basel Gill, and Rand and Mat stay there because Thom knew the owner and told the boys about it. Changes:
- Location - In the books, the inn is located in Caemlyn.
- Name - In the books, the inn is named for the Queen of Andor. The name change is likely to reflect the new location in Tar Valon.
