Leane Sharif is a character in The Wheel of Time television series portrayed by Jennifer Cheon Garcia.
Leane Sharif is a Domani Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah.[1] As the Keeper of the Chronicles, she is the right-hand woman of the Amyrlin Seat, Siuan Sanche, and the second highest-ranking sister in the White Tower.
History[]
Early life[]
Leane was born in Arad Doman. She trained at the White Tower in Tar Valon, and was eventually raised to the shawl, deciding to join the Blue Ajah. After Marith Jaen's death, Siuan Sanche was raised to the new Amyrlin Seat, and chose Leane as her Keeper of the Chronicles.
Activities[]
Season 1[]
Leane presides over the Hall of the Tower when Siuan summons Moiraine Damodred, Alanna Mosvani, Liandrin Guirale and other sisters in Kerene Nagashi's party to answer for the extrajudicial gentling of Logain Ablar. She acts as a herald when the Amyrlin arrives, and orders the False Dragon to be brought before the Hall. When Logain gloats about his killing of Kerene, Leane is disgusted, and clangs her staff against the floor to maintain order in the Hall. After Logain departs, she continues to preside over the session. When Liandrin asks Maigan if she does not wish Siuan to question Moiraine on her absences from the Tower because she was once Blue, Sitters begin to take offense, and Leane clangs her staff to keep order once more. Siuan dismisses Moiraine, telling her she will think on her punishment.
When Siuan calls the Hall of the Tower again for Moiraine's judgement, Leane presides over the session, and tells Moiraine to rise after she falls to her feet. Siuan chooses to exile Moiraine, which appears to deeply sadden Leane, although she maintains her composure as Keeper.[2]
Season 2[]
Siuan has left Tar Valon again, leaving Leane largely in charge of affairs at the White Tower. She passes Egwene al'Vere in the hallways near the Amyrlin's quarters and nonchalantly passes her drinking cup at the novice when she is done with it.[3]
Physical appearance[]
Leane has a medium skin tone, and dark hair. Although she is of the Blue Ajah, her position as Keeper of the Chronicles means that she usually dresses in a more neutral palette, rather than her Ajah colors, especially during the formal Sittings in the Hall of the Tower. However, unlike the Amyrlin who must maintain impartiality at all times, Leane can be seen wearing her Ajah's blue colors on less formal occasions.
