Joiya al'Thor is a character in The Wheel of Time television series. She is the imaginary daughter of Rand al'Thor and Egwene al'Vere.
History[]
Season 1[]
After reaching the Eye of the World, Rand enters an imaginary space controlled by The Man that resembles his family farm in the Two Rivers. Egwene is eating outside with Joiya, and asks Rand if he has made a lantern for her, as Mat will not have enough time to do so. Egwene gives her to Rand, and goes to finish the lantern.
In the real world, Moiraine Damodred tries to wake Rand from the experience. When Egwene returns from the house, Rand gives Joiya to Egwene, and starts to question the reality, but seems to decide that it is real when Egwene answers his questions with knowledge only she has. However, The Man approaches, and freezes Egwene and Joiya in time. The Man stands over Joiya when tempting Rand with the promise of remaking reality, asking him to focus on her to make her real, but Rand instead reaches for the sa'angreal that Moiraine gave him, breaking free of the false reality.[1]
