The Illianer Companions are an elite military order that serves the nation of Illian.

The Illianer Companions is an elite military force. Foreigners may rise high within their ranks.[1]
History[]
During the Aiel War, the Illianer Companions helped to defend the Westlands after the Aiel invaded to kill the king of Cairhien when he broke their centuries-old truce. Tam al'Thor, originally from the Two Rivers in Andor, served as a Second Captain of the Companions during this time.[1] During the Battle of the Shining Walls, Tigraine Mantear, a Maiden of the Spear, killed many of the Illianer Companions even while she was in active labor; however, she was mortally wounded during the fighting. Tam al'Thor took pity on her when he found her, and helped her deliver her baby. After she died, he raised the child as his own son, Rand.[2]
