Helena Westerman is a British actress who portrays Laila Dearn on Prime Video's The Wheel of Time.
General overview[]
Helena Westerman is primarily known for stage roles. She is the co-artistic director of Rascal Theatre.
From 2019, it was speculated that Helena Westerman would be joining The Wheel of Time after a credit for the show appeared on her agency, though it was later taken down.[1] Westerman was also identified as one of the cast members attending to the first table read in September 2019.[2]
On March 8, 2020, Westerman's involvement in the series was first officially confirmed when showrunner Rafe Judkins made an Instagram post for International Women's Day that included Westerman's photo among other cast and crew for The Wheel of Time,[3] although her role remained unconfirmed.
Speculation persisted until late 2021, where it was confirmed that she would appear in the show via attendees of London Comic Con, who saw exclusive clips from the first episode. She also heavily interacted with the show via social media before the premiere.
