Synopsis[]

Official episode synopsis for Goldeneyes from Prime Video:

Perrin begins to embrace his role as a leader among the people of the Two Rivers.

Plot summary[]

The Two Rivers residents prepare for the battle ahead, and an alarm is sounded, warning them of incoming Trollocs, but Perrin tells them they're not Trollocs, but Tuatha'an. Perrin allows them entry into the village, and he recognizes both Aram and Ila. From them, Perrin learns that Raen died because of Trollocs. Bain, Chiad, and Faile approach Perrin, and he suspects the Trollocs would invade that night.

Afterward, Perrin sits with Faile, Ila, and Aram at a table and chats while Bain and Chiad dote on Aram. Alanna trains Bode and Eldrin and Daise expresses interest in learning too. Closeby, Maksim trains some residents to use a spear. One in particular, Cenn Buie, acts acostly toward Maksim and claims he can better him by using a long bow. Alanna approaches Maksim and tells him that she found another Channeler, though the cynical Maksim believes they'll still all die there. Banners are unveiled featuring a Wolf as its emblem, which Perrin disapproved of, but Faile insists on it as Trollocs are afraid of Wolves.

Later, Perrin and Faile hold a meeting organized by Lord Luc with Dain Bornhald to ask that they assist in the fight against the Trollocs; however, Dain refuses to help the village.

From the Winespring Inn, Loial is watched by Bain and Chiad as he writes a tale about the last king of Manetheren, and relents to their request to play Maiden's Kiss. Maksim and Alanna enjoy some alone time with each other, and Perrin and Faile have a heart-to-heart about the fear of leading people to their alleged deaths. It takes a dark turn when Faile indirectly mentions Laila, causing Perrin to lose his temper.

Back in the inn, Loial refuses to kiss either lady, allowing Chiad to pay her T'oh toward him. However, Bain claims that his act only forms a T'oh with her to prevent her from participating in the battle ahead.

Outside, Perrin talks to Eldrin and Bode and reveals to them that Mat couldn't return home because he has the Horn of Valere. At that moment, the alarms are sounded as the Trollocs are seen walking down the mountains from the horizon. In the Winespring Inn, Perrin debriefs on how they'll proceed with the upcoming Trolloc attack.

Perrin stands on the army's frontline, dressed in a suit of armor. Before the Trollocs arrive, he sings a song with the soldiers there until the Trollocs close in. They first thin out some of the Trollocs' numbers with two volleys of their longbow arrows and suffer some losses on their side from the return fire. Hidden from view, Chiad, Bain, and Loial spy on some Darkfriends and a Trolloc located at a Waygate which they intend to take control of.

The battle continues, and Perrin has Maksim signal Alanna, who is perched on a cliff. Alanna links with Bode, Eldrin, and Daise to create a hailstorm that kills most of the Trollocs and Darkfriends. The soldiers rejoice at this feat, and when Perrin and Faile return to the village, they learn that the Trollocs oddly made a tactful retreat. An arrow then strikes Alanna, and Daise dies while trying to protect her, while Eldrin and Bode carry the wounded Alanna away. The once retreating Trollocs then make a comeback, which motivates Maksim to continue fighting. Once all of the Darkfriends and Trollocs were beaten at the Waygate, Loial entered through it to seal it up from the opposite side.

Retreating to Two Rivers, the White Cloaks arrive waving a white flag. However, unbeknownst to Dain, who led the forces, Padan, leader of the White Cloak reinforcements, he and his allies launch an ambush attack on the place. Inside the Waygate, Loial tries to prevent the reinforcements from arriving, while outside, Bain and Chiad deal with their own reinforcements.

As the Tuatha'an escape with the children through a hidden passageway, Aram kills a Trolloc with a sword, and Ila witnesses this.

Thanks to Faile's inspiration, Perrin takes the initiative. He rallies the soldiers to the square where he is and has them fight by his side. Elsewhere, Eamon finds the wounded Alanna and had intended to kill her, but thanks to the combined efforts of Eldrin and Bode, they engulf Eamon in flames as Alanna watches proudly of the girl's effort.

Perrin fights through Trollocs and Darkfriends, incapacitating Padan. He then has him reveal why he had the Trollocs invade Two Rivers while also revealing the reinforcements that were on their way from the Waygate.

To prevent the reinforcements from progressing, Loial destroys the path leading to the gate, causing it to fall with it.

A massive explosion from the Waygate reveals that Loial succeeded in preventing the reinforcements from arriving. Smelling Padan's fear of death, Perrin makes a deal with him: Take his army out of there and never return. Padan then calls off the Trollocs, and the people of Two Rivers rejoice.

The following day, Eldrin and Bode ask Alanna if she intends to bring them back to White Tower, but she denies that she will. Unable to reconcile with his grandmother, Marin approaches Aram and offers him to become the new Blacksmith of Two Rivers. Inside the Winespring Inn, Perrin, Faile, Bain, and Chiad mourn the loss of Loial.

The White Cloaks arrive, led by Dain, who requests that Perrin agree to his side of the bargain and surrender himself to them. Despite the villagers' backlash, Perrin agrees to surrender himself to them, and as he's led away, the people of Two Rivers chant his name with the title of Lord.
