Gitara Moroso[2] is a character in The Wheel of Time television series portrayed by Hayley Mills.
Gitara Moroso is an Aes Sedai who had a vision of the Dragon being reborn.
History[]
Pre-series[]
Gitara was "born with eyes so white she couldn't see anything", but she had the ability to see visions; the talent of Foretelling.[3] Gitara studied at the White Tower, and chose the Blue Ajah when she became a full Aes Sedai.
In 978 NE,[4] the fighting of the Aiel War came to an end, and Moiraine Damodred and Siuan Sanche came to deliver Gitara news from the Amyrlin that the war was over. As they did so, Gitara had a Foretelling about the rebirth of the Dragon, Rand al'Thor. Gitara appeared to feel the same pain as Tigraine Mantear, the Dragon's mother, as Tigraine gave birth. Moiraine and Siuan went to her side as Gitara told them of her vision, and Gitara asked that Moiraine to Siuan tell no one else, and to prepare the world to follow the Dragon. She then collapsed dead, at the same time Tigraine passed.[1][2][5]
Gitara's death led to Moiraine beginning her search for the Dragon Reborn, while Siuan would prepare the Tower for their coming.[1]
Season 1[]
In the Two Rivers, Moiraine relates Gitara's Foretelling to Rand al'Thor, Mat Cauthon, Perrin Aybara, and Egwene al'Vere, and why it has led her to them.[3]
On her return to the White Tower in 998 NE, Moiraine discusses Gitara's Foretelling with Siuan. She notes that there are many prophecies relating to the Dragon, and wonders if Gitara was wrong, and that Nynaeve could be the Dragon despite being too old for the prophecy. Siuan tells her that she cannot reasonably doubt Gitara, as they were there when she saw the moment the Dragon was reborn.[5]
Season 2[]
Moiraine and Siuan discuss Gitara again when they reunite in the Sun Palace of Cairhien, and the shared responsibilities they have had to find Rand and prepare the world for his coming.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Gitara is an elderly woman with long white hair and white eyes. She wears a blue dress.

Changes from the book series[]
Gitara Moroso is an adaptation of the character of the same name (book spoilers!) from the book series. Changes:
- Eye color - In the books, Gitara's eyes were not white. Her eye color is not stated, but in the New Spring comic adaptation, her eyes are blue.
- Eyesight - In the books, Gitara's eyesight is fine; she is not blind by her ability to have visions.
- Keeper - In the books, Gitara was the Keeper of the Chronicles under one Amyrlin Seat. In the television series, it's not specified if Gitara is Keeper or not.
