Geofram Bornhald is a character in The Wheel of Time television series portrayed by Stuart Graham.
Bornhald is a member of the Children of the Light.[1]
History[]
Early life[]
Geofram Bornhald was born somewhere in the Westlands. He chose to follow the Way of the Light, and became one of the Children of the Light. He has a son, Dain, who also became a Child of the Light.[2]
Activities[]
Season 1[]
Geofram rides through Andor with a party of Children, including the Questioner Eamon Valda. He encounters a party of six: Moiraine Damodred, Lan Mandragoran, Rand al'Thor, Mat Cauthon, Perrin Aybara, and Egwene al'Vere. He greets them, asking if they are heading to Whitebridge. Moiraine affirms that she is, and that she is hoping to stay with her sister in the city. Bornhald seems relatively content when the woman says she is not concerned by "wars and witches," but asks her to indulge them longer, as one of the Questioners is present. Bornhald interjects in the questioning when Moiraine and Lan speak of being attacked by a "monster", asking if it took place in Lan's homeland of the Borderlands. When he inspects Moiraine's Trolloc-poisoned wound, he is surprised to see Shadowspawn as far south as Andor. Moiraine tells him that she came from Taren Ferry, and asks him to help the people there. Before she leaves, Bornhald recommends that, even though the Children of the Light prefer to stay clear of Aes Sedai, she ought to seek one in Whitebridge, as only they can heal her wound. After the encounter, Valda informs him that he is taking a contingent of Questioners south, in order to serve a "higher purpose."[1]
Season 2[]
Geofram's son, Dain, is serving as a Child in Atuan's Mill. Valda tells Dain that he cannot rely on his father's name for everything.[2]
During the Battle of Falme, while leading efforts to liberate the town from the Seanchan occupation, Geofram kills the wolf Hopper to save Valda from being savaged by the animal. Enraged by the death of his companion, Perrin Aybara kills Geofram with an axe to the chest.
Personality[]
Bornhald appears to be one of the less extremist Children of the Light, treating Moiraine Damodred relatively kindly during Valda's interrogation, and even recommending that she see an Aes Sedai to heal her poisoned wound.
Physical appearance[]
Bornhald is a somewhat ageing man, with fair skin and white hair.
