To dreamwalk is to exert control over Tel'aran'rhiod, the World of Dreams. A person who can dreamwalk is a dreamwalker.

Abilities[]

A powerful Dreamwalker can go wherever they please in Tel'aran'rhiod, potentially seeing anywhere from the waking world. They can see things as they truly are, and communicate with others as they sleep. They can alter their physical appearance in the World of Dreams, which includes not just altering their hair and clothes, but also their entire appearance, being able to pose as other people. Dreamwalkers can also create entire, elaborate scenarios that other people can experience.[1]

The ability was far more common and well-known in the Age of Legends.[2] Some very knowledgeable people of the Westlands, such as Moiraine Damodred, do know of legends about Forsaken being able to control Tel'aran'rhiod.[1]

In the Third Age, Dreamwalkers are much more common among the Aiel than they are in the Westlands. The ability is still relatively rare, however, and only a few Wise Ones in each clan are true Dreamwalkers. Bair tells Egwene al'Vere that it has been a long time since any of the Aes Sedai were able to dreamwalk.[3]

Known Dreamwalkers[]

Quotes[]

Bair
It is many hundreds of years since your Tower produced a Dreamwalker, Aes Sedai.
Egwene
A Dreamwalker?
Bair
Almost anyone can touch Tel'aran'rhiod. Very few can truly enter it. Of all the Taardad Wise Ones, Melaine and I are the only Dreamwalkers.
— First direct mention of dreamwalking, episode 303 Seeds of Shadow

Changes from the book series[]

Dreamwalking is adapted from the ability of the same name  (book spoilers!) from the book series.
