Daniel Henney

Daniel Henney is a Korean-American actor and model. He portrays Lan Mandragoran on Prime Video's The Wheel of Time. Henney's casting was announced on September 4, 2019.[2]

Biography[]

Henney is known for portraying Agent Zero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Tadashi in Big Hero 6 (2014), and Agent Phil Hayes in The Last Stand (2013).

For @TheWheelOfTime fans who are waiting so patiently (and for future fans as well) - here’s a first look at al’Lan Mandragoran - the uncrowned King of Malkier. I’ve loved every minute playing him thus far & we’re working tirelessly to bring you a fantastic show - stay tuned!

On October 29, 2021, IGN released an interview with the cast that was done in 2019. Henney said the following on Lan:

Lan is a Warder in this world, and what that means is he's a guardian/protector of Moiraine (who's played by Rosamund Pike). He's sworn to her. They have this relationship that is a platonic relationship, there's nothing going on between the sheets or anything between these two, but they are connected very deeply. They are on this journey together to find the Dragon. And so they've been traveling from town to town to town to find the Dragon. And so he is her right-hand man, and he will do everything, including sacrifice his own life, for her. He's kind of the perfect guy. Not saying I'm the perfect guy, cuz I'm not by any means, but Lan is pretty cool.
