Caemlyn is the capital city of Andor.[1]
History[]
Pre-series[]
Thom Merrilin was born to a wealthy family in Caemlyn. After decades of schooling in Andoran politics, he became court bard to House Trakand, and became known as "The Gray Fox." However, for unknown reasons, Thom later left the capital to make a living as a gleeman.
Season 1[]
The Amyrlin Seat, Siuan Sanche, is away in Caemlyn when Logain Ablar and the party of Aes Sedai escorting him return to Tar Valon, having had to extrajudicially gentle him outside the Tower after he broke free of their shield and his army attacked the camp. Siuan intends to properly investigate the matter upon her return to Tar Valon.[2]
Season 2[]
When Verin Mathwin asks about the whereabouts of Egwene al'Vere, Nynaeve al'Meara, and Elayne Trakand, Sheriam Bayanar somewhat confusedly states that they were signed out to visit Elayne's home in Caemlyn. When Yasicca takes a look at Sheriam's notes, she confirms that they have been signed out to supposedly visit Elayne's brother, Gawyn, but notes that she was writing slower than usual. The combination of odd behavior makes Verin suspect that a weave of Compulsion may have been used, which would mean that the Black Ajah does truly exist.[3]

Changes from the book series[]
Caemlyn is an adaptation of the city of the same name 
(book spoilers!) from the book series.
- In the book series, Moiraine's party eventually reunites in Caemlyn after separating in Shadar Logoth, and decide to abandon their journey to Tar Valon to instead travel to the Eye of the World. However, in the television series, they reunite in their planned destination of Tar Valon.
