Cadsuane Melaidhrin is a legendary Aes Sedai who is famous for her deeds.[1]
History[]
Cadsuane was born somewhere in the Westlands. She studied at the White Tower in Tar Valon, where she shared an adjacent room with Elena Katab as a novice. Cadsuane was eventually raised to Aes Sedai. Both she and Elena became known as great Aes Sedai, and they were taken as proof of the White Tower belief that great Aes Sedai pairings started with the kind of friendships they had as novices.[1]
Season 2[]
Elayne Trakand mentions the friendship that Cadsuane and Elena had as novices to Egwene al'Vere.[1]
Alanna Mosvani later remarks to Lan Mandragoran that Nynaeve al'Meara being raised to Accepted in just a few months is the fastest anyone has done it since Cadsuane.[2]

- Fans on Twitter fancast actress Shohreh Aghdashloo in the role of Cadsuane, and the tweets became prevalent enough for the actress to respond to them in December 2021, which led to her and showrunner Rafe Judkins discussing a possible role for her in the series. In May 2023, Shohreh Aghdashloo was spotted on the season 3 set in an unknown role. In September 2023, WoT Up! reported that Aghdashloo would portray Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan.[3]
