Birgitte Silverbow is a character in The Wheel of Time television series, first appearing in season 2.[1]
Birgitte is one of the Heroes of the Horn, tied to the Horn of Valere, and she arrives for battle when the Horn is sounded. She is a legendary champion, and has been spun out by the Wheel of Time many times.[2]
History[]
Birgitte is a legendary hero who is skilled with a bow and arrow. She has had many adventures across many lifetimes, as she is spun out by the Wheel.[2]
Season 1[]
Helga Grinwell names one of her dolls Birgitte, after the legendary hero, and believes that Birgitte protects her in her sleep. She offers the doll to Mat Cauthon when he stays on her parents' farm to take back to his sisters. Mat initially refuses, but Helga insists, as she has many more dolls, and Birgitte has "always wanted to see the world." Mat accepts the doll, but drops it as he flees the farm.[3]
Season 2[]
Birgitte appears in Falme with the other Heroes of the Horn when Mat Cauthon sounds the Horn of Valere. She and the other Heroes defeat many of the town's Seanchan occupiers.[4]

Trivia[]
- Birgitte was portrayed by stuntwoman Sona Havranova in season 2,[5] who was not credited for the role. Rafe Judkins explained that Birgitte will have a larger role in future seasons, so the show wants to one day cast an actress who can properly bring her to life.[6]
