Aviendha is a character in The Wheel of Time television series, first appearing in season 2. She is portrayed by Ayoola Smart.[1]
Aviendha is an Aiel Maiden of the Spear.
History[]
Early life[]
Aviendha was born to the Nine Valleys sept of the Taardad Aiel.[2] She became a Maiden of the Spear. She is involved with the Aiel group known as the Wise Ones.[3]
Aviendha left the Aiel Waste to search for the Car'a'carn, the fabled Chief of Chiefs.[4]
Season 2[]
Perrin Aybara finds Aviendha locked in a cage in Atuan's Mill, a small town on Toman Head that has been occupied by the Children of the Light. Many of the Whitecloaks are extremely suspicious of an Aielwoman who has been found so far from the Spine of the World, and Eamon Valda believes that it is no coincidence that she has arrived at the same time as the Seanchan. Perrin chooses to release Aviendha from her cage, and the pair face Dain Bornhald's Whitecloaks together. Aviendha proves an extremely capable warrior, and can easily defeat several Whitecloaks. The Maiden of the Spear is ready to kill Dain, but Perrin urges her to spare him, and they flee the town together. Aviendha and Perrin make camp together, and they discuss her people, the Aiel. She tells him about her home, the Three-fold Land. Aviendha also explains that she is in Perrin's debt according to the Aiel honor system of ji'e'toh.[5]
