Alexandre Willaume (born December 20, 1972) is a Danish actor who portrays Thom Merrilin on Prime Video's The Wheel of Time.
Biography[]
Prior to The Wheel of Time, Willaume was known for portraying Kjartan in The Last Kingdom (2015-2017), S.P. in Below the Surface (2017, Gidseltagningen), Henrik in Equinox (2020), and Lieutenant in Tomb Raider (2018). Between seasons 1 and 3, Willaume also notably portrayed Anker in the Netflix series 1899 (2022).
Willaume's casting as Thom Merrilin was announced December 4, 2019.[1]
In December 2022, Willaume said he wouldn't be in season 2, but that he would return for season 3.[2] Alexandre Willaume filmed his season 3 scenes in October 2023. On October 18, 2023, Willaume posted a picture of himself at his The Wheel of Time trailer which was labeled with his character's name, saying that he would be in Prague the following week.[3] On October 29, 2023, he posted that he had wrapped filming.[4]
